Registered bed nights increased 32 percent

In March 2021, 467,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Jämtland County (+32.4 %), of which 458,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 9,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 40 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 65 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 32 percent from last year's March.

56,100 rooms (+41.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 15,300 rooms (-25.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 1.2 million registered bed nights (+20.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 23,600 (-83.6 %) for foreigners in Jämtland County, in total 1.2 million (+7.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 16.1 percent

Total of 2.9 million registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+11.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (-46.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jämtland County out of total registered bed nights was 16.1 % (+3.6 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 17.1 % and foreign bed nights 4.2 %.

Length of stay increased 31 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 31 percent compared to earlier year. In Jämtland County, length of stay in March was on average 8.7 nights and in Sweden 3.2 nights (+21.8 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämtland County on average 8.9 nights (+30.8 %) and foreigners 4.7 nights (-15.5 %).

53,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.3 percent were domestic, and 3.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämtland County on average 8.9 nights (+2.2) and foreigners 4.7 nights (-1.3).
