Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 35 percent

In August 2021, 290,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Jämtland County (+35.0 %), of which 250,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 40,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 23 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 240 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 35 percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (11,100 nights).

51,400 rooms (+43.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 17,400 rooms (+24.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 2.2 million registered bed nights (+32.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 137,000 (-25.6 %) for foreigners in Jämtland County, in total 2.4 million (+26.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 3.4 percent

Total of 8.4 million registered bed nights (+39.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.8 million nights (+25.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+160.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jämtland County out of total registered bed nights was 3.4 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.7 % and foreign bed nights 2.5 %.

Length of stay was 2.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. In Jämtland County, length of stay in August was on average 2.6 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-3.6 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämtland County on average 2.7 nights (+13.3 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-49.1 %).

113,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 38 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 83.0 percent were domestic, and 17.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämtland County on average 2.7 nights (-0.01) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.15).
