Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased two percent

In September 2018, 11,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Jokkmokk (+1.8 %), of which 9,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased seven percent. In total, registered bed nights increased two percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (510 nights).

830 rooms (-38.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,200 rooms (+53.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 130,000 registered bed nights (+9.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 46,900 (+8.1 %) for foreigners in Jokkmokk, in total 177,000 (+9.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 4.4 million registered bed nights (-0.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.3 million nights (-1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (+2.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jokkmokk out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased six percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. In Jokkmokk, length of stay in September was on average 7.3 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (+0.8 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jokkmokk on average 9.0 nights (-3.0 %) and foreigners 3.7 nights (+12.2 %).

1,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 68.1 percent were domestic, and 31.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jokkmokk on average 9.0 nights (+0.31) and foreigners 3.7 nights (+0.47).
