Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased one percent

In February 2019, 26,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Jokkmokk (+1.2 %), of which 19,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 15 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 22 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased one percent from last year's February.

6,500 rooms (+51.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 4,500 rooms (-30.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 33,900 registered bed nights (+16.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 14,900 (-14.1 %) for foreigners in Jokkmokk, in total 48,800 (+5.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.3 million registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.3 million nights (+3.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 954,000 nights (+0.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jokkmokk out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

Length of stay was 3.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 37 percent compared to earlier year. In Jokkmokk, length of stay in February was on average 3.1 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (-1.2 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jokkmokk on average 4.4 nights (-32.2 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-52.3 %).

8,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 61 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 48.5 percent were domestic, and 51.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jokkmokk on average 4.4 nights (-2.1) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-1.7).
