Registered bed nights increased five percent

In March 2019, 29,800 bed nights were recorded in Jokkmokk (+4.6 %), of which 21,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 8,000 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased two percent and foreign bed nights increased 14 percent. In total, bed nights increased five percent from last year's March.

7,700 rooms (+68.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 4,100 rooms (-15.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 55,600 bed nights (+10.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 22,900 (-6.0 %) for foreigners in Jokkmokk, in total 78,600 (+4.9 %) nights.

Market share 0.7 percent

Total of 4.5 million bed nights (-3.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.6 million nights (-1.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 888,000 nights (-12.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jokkmokk out of total bed nights was 0.7 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.9 %.

11,600 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 19 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 62.8 percent were domestic, and 37.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jokkmokk on average 3.0 nights (+0.01) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.88).
