Registered bed nights increased 59 percent

In May 2022, 154,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Jönköping County (+58.6 %), of which 132,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 22,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 52 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 115 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 59 percent from last year's May.

36,500 rooms (+89.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 44,500 rooms (+121.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 407,000 registered bed nights (+51.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 80,100 (+156.1 %) for foreigners in Jönköping County, in total 487,000 (+62.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.9 percent

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jönköping County out of total registered bed nights was 2.9 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.0 % and foreign bed nights 2.2 %.

87,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 82 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 86.7 percent were domestic, and 13.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jönköping County on average 1.7 nights (-0.22) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-1.0).
