Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 13 percent

In March 2018, 93,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Jönköping County (+13.2 %), of which 74,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 19,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased nine percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 35 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 13 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (7,600 nights).

18,300 rooms (+10.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 34,300 rooms (+0.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 197,000 registered bed nights (+5.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 52,500 (+10.8 %) for foreigners in Jönköping County, in total 249,000 (+6.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.0 percent

Total of 4.7 million registered bed nights (+12.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.7 million nights (+7.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.0 million nights (+32.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jönköping County out of total registered bed nights was 2.0 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.0 % and foreign bed nights 1.9 %.

Length of stay increased one percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. In Jönköping County, length of stay in March was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (+5.0 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jönköping County on average 1.5 nights (+0.6 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-3.1 %).

57,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 12 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.1 percent were domestic, and 14.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jönköping County on average 1.5 nights (-0.02) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+0.12).
