Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased six percent

In March 2021, 50,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Jönköping County (+6.2 %), of which 45,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased less than one percent. In total, registered bed nights increased six percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (710 nights).

12,100 rooms (+2.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 15,200 rooms (-24.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 126,000 registered bed nights (-22.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 14,500 (-49.2 %) for foreigners in Jönköping County, in total 140,000 (-26.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.7 percent

Total of 2.9 million registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+11.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (-46.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jönköping County out of total registered bed nights was 1.7 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.7 % and foreign bed nights 2.3 %.

Length of stay increased 21 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 21 percent compared to earlier year. In Jönköping County, length of stay in March was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 3.2 nights (+21.8 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jönköping County on average 2.0 nights (+26.1 %) and foreigners 2.7 nights (+1.7 %).

24,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 12 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.3 percent were domestic, and 7.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jönköping County on average 2.0 nights (+0.37) and foreigners 2.7 nights (+0.23).
