Registered bed nights increased 36 percent

In August 2021, 249,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Jönköping County (+36.3 %), of which 189,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 59,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 23 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 106 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 36 percent from last year's August.

48,100 rooms (+26.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 25,300 rooms (+36.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 888,000 registered bed nights (+15.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 165,000 (+55.9 %) for foreigners in Jönköping County, in total 1.1 million (+20.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 3.0 percent

Total of 8.4 million registered bed nights (+39.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.8 million nights (+25.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+160.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jönköping County out of total registered bed nights was 3.0 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.8 % and foreign bed nights 3.7 %.

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. In Jönköping County, length of stay in August was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-3.6 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jönköping County on average 1.7 nights (+4.5 %) and foreigners 2.9 nights (-6.4 %).

129,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 40 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 84.3 percent were domestic, and 15.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jönköping County on average 1.7 nights (-0.1) and foreigners 2.9 nights (-0.48).
