Registered bed nights increased 97 percent

In May 2022, 76,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Jönköping (+96.6 %), of which 64,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 12,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 85 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 198 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 97 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (2,600 nights).

20,900 rooms (+112.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 25,300 rooms (+141.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 204,000 registered bed nights (+82.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 36,100 (+133.4 %) for foreigners in Jönköping, in total 240,000 (+88.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.4 percent

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jönköping out of total registered bed nights was 1.4 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.5 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

48,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 108 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 84.8 percent were domestic, and 15.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jönköping on average 1.6 nights (-0.11) and foreigners 1.6 nights (+0.04).
