37,400 registered bed nights

In December 2018, 37,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Jönköping (-5.0 %), of which 32,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased two percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 22 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased five percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (860 nights).

9,600 rooms (-5.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 13,800 rooms (-0.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 639,000 registered bed nights (-2.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 160,000 (-4.7 %) for foreigners in Jönköping, in total 799,000 (-2.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+1.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 787,000 nights (+3.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jönköping out of total registered bed nights was 1.1 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

Length of stay was 1.5 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Jönköping, length of stay in December was on average 1.5 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.1 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jönköping on average 1.4 nights (-1.9 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-1.9 %).

25,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.8 percent were domestic, and 10.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jönköping on average 1.4 nights (-0.1) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+0.02).
