Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased six percent

In February 2020, 38,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Jönköping (+5.7 %), of which 33,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 11 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased six percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (740 nights).

10,500 rooms (+20.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 15,600 rooms (-4.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 70,500 registered bed nights (+3.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 10,100 (-2.4 %) for foreigners in Jönköping, in total 80,600 (+2.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.4 million registered bed nights (+3.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.5 million nights (+5.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 935,000 nights (-2.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jönköping out of total registered bed nights was 0.9 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.0 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay was 1.4 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. In Jönköping, length of stay in February was on average 1.4 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (-3.1 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jönköping on average 1.4 nights (+0.4 %) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-10.7 %).

26,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.1 percent were domestic, and 11.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jönköping on average 1.4 nights (+0.01) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-0.3).
