76,000 registered bed nights

In August 2020, 76,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Jönköping (-30.9 %), of which 68,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased six percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 79 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 31 percent from last year's August.

21,500 rooms (-21.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 10,000 rooms (-46.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 348,000 registered bed nights (-25.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 35,000 (-75.3 %) for foreigners in Jönköping, in total 383,000 (-37.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 6.1 million registered bed nights (-31.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.4 million nights (-10.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 615,000 nights (-77.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jönköping out of total registered bed nights was 1.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.3 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

Length of stay increased nine percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Jönköping, length of stay in August was on average 1.7 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (+6.0 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jönköping on average 1.7 nights (+4.2 %) and foreigners 1.4 nights (+4.0 %).

45,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 36 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.1 percent were domestic, and 11.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jönköping on average 1.7 nights (+0.15) and foreigners 1.4 nights (-0.08).
