Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 131 percent

In December 2021, 34,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Jönköping (+131.5 %), of which 28,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 129 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 146 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 131 percent from last year's December.

12,200 rooms (+134.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 9,000 rooms (+88.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 538,000 registered bed nights (+16.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 82,200 (+62.0 %) for foreigners in Jönköping, in total 621,000 (+21.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+85.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.8 million nights (+74.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 553,000 nights (+166.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jönköping out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.0 % and foreign bed nights 1.0 %.

Length of stay was 1.5 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased six percent compared to earlier year. In Jönköping, length of stay in December was on average 1.5 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-24.9 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jönköping on average 1.4 nights (-0.8 %) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-0.8 %).

23,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 145 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.3 percent were domestic, and 14.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jönköping on average 1.4 nights (-0.11) and foreigners 1.6 nights (+0.03).
