4,700 registered bed nights

In April 2020, 4,700 bed nights were recorded in Jyväskylä (-85.8 %), of which 4,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 310 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 85 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 90 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 86 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Spain (120 nights).

1,100 nights (-92.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,700 nights (-81.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 90,500 bed nights (-26.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 12,000 (-32.1 %) for foreigners in Jyväskylä, in total 102,000 (-27.0 %) nights.

Market share 2.5 percent

Total of 190,000 bed nights (-88.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 173,000 nights (-85.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 16,800 nights (-95.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jyväskylä out of total bed nights was 2.5 % (+0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.6 % and foreign bed nights 1.9 %.

2,300 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 90 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 98.0 percent were domestic, and 2.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jyväskylä on average 1.9 nights (+0.58) and foreigners 6.8 nights (+4.8).

Registered January-April sales were 7.2 million euro and they decreased 2.4 million euro from the previous year.
