28,400 registered bed nights

In September 2020, 28,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Jyväskylä (-29.1 %), of which 27,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 730 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 20 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 86 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 29 percent from last year's September.

13,600 nights (-13.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 14,800 nights (-38.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 242,000 registered bed nights (-24.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 16,500 (-69.4 %) for foreigners in Jyväskylä, in total 258,000 (-30.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.2 million registered bed nights (-32.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-12.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 92,200 nights (-82.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jyväskylä out of total registered bed nights was 2.3 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

19,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 32 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.2 percent were domestic, and 1.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jyväskylä on average 1.5 nights (+0.11) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.05).
