83,100 registered bed nights (October)

In October 2022, 83,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Kainuu (-8.6 %), of which 80,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased nine percent and registered foreign bed nights increased one percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased nine percent from last year's October.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (610 nights).

72,200 nights (-9.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 10,900 nights (-4.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 774,000 registered bed nights (-4.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 43,200 (+52.8 %) for foreigners in Kainuu, in total 817,000 (-2.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.7 million registered bed nights (+0.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.4 million nights (-6.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 305,000 nights (+52.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kainuu out of total registered bed nights was 5.0 % (-0.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 5.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.9 %.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.5 percent were domestic, and 3.5 percent were from foreign countries.

Accommodation sales 4.9 million euro (October)

Total accommodation sales in October were 4.9 million euro (+4,100). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 23.1 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 3.8 million euro (-380,000) and non-registered sales 1.1 million euro (+384,000).

Total January-October sales were 50.9 million euro and they increased 7.1 million euro from the previous year.
