Registered bed nights increased two percent
In November 2019, 58,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Kainuu (+1.6 %), of which 54,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased six percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 35 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased two percent from last year's November.
51,400 nights (+36.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 7,300 nights (-63.6 %) by business visitors.
Between January and November, 826,000 registered bed nights (+6.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 87,500 (-5.5 %) for foreigners in Kainuu, in total 914,000 (+4.8 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

19,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.8 percent were domestic, and 3.2 percent were from foreign countries.
During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kainuu on average 2.8 nights (-0.07) and foreigners 6.7 nights (-0.93).

The airport received a total of 3,400 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased 22 percent.

Trips by Russian travelers over the eastern border increased 16 percent
A total of 289,000 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.
The share of southeastern border stations was 91.3 percent.

Russian visa applications decreased six percent
There was a total of 55,000 visa applications to Finland made by the Russians. 76.9 percent were done at St. Petersburg's consulate.
Accommodation sales 2.7 million euro
Registered accommodation sales in November were 2.7 million euro (+1.3 million).
Registered January-November sales were 41.4 million euro and they increased 17.9 million euro from the previous year.
