Registered bed nights increased three percent
In October 2020, 83,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Kainuu (+2.5 %), of which 82,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased four percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 48 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased three percent from last year's October.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Portugal (530 nights).
73,700 nights (+1.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 10,000 nights (+11.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and October, 707,000 registered bed nights (-8.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 38,400 (-53.8 %) for foreigners in Kainuu, in total 745,000 (-12.8 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

25,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.1 percent were domestic, and 0.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kainuu on average 3.3 nights (+0.14) and foreigners 6.2 nights (+1.8).

Accommodation sales 3.3 million euro
Registered accommodation sales in October were 3.3 million euro (-66,300).
Registered January-October sales were 31.0 million euro and they decreased 7.7 million euro from the previous year.
