Total of 82,000 bed nights (+0.6 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Kainuu in January 2023. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 77 % and non-registered 23 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.

In February 2023, the number of bed nights in paid accommodation is expected to increase by 6.3 % compared to the previous year in Kainuu.

Registered domestic bed nights decreased one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 13 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased less than one percent from last year's January.
54,200 nights (-1.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 9,100 nights (+5.7 %) by business visitors.

Length of stay was 3.1 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 12 percent compared to earlier year. In Kainuu, length of stay in January was on average 3.1 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-17.8 %).
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kainuu on average 3.1 nights and foreigners 3.5 nights .
