Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 10 percent

In February 2020, 98,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Kajaani Region (+10.4 %), of which 95,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 15 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 47 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 10 percent from last year's February.

90,000 nights (+13.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 8,800 nights (-10.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 154,000 registered bed nights (+16.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 20,600 (-23.4 %) for foreigners in Kajaani Region, in total 175,000 (+9.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 5.3 percent

Total of 1.9 million registered bed nights (+7.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.2 million nights (+10.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 611,000 nights (+1.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kajaani Region out of total registered bed nights was 5.3 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 7.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

Length of stay was 3.3 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Kajaani Region, length of stay in February was on average 3.3 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+2.0 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kajaani Region on average 3.3 nights (-7.0 %) and foreigners 3.9 nights (-19.8 %).

29,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 19 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.7 percent were domestic, and 3.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kajaani Region on average 3.3 nights (-0.17) and foreigners 3.9 nights (-1.6).
