In December 2020, 60,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Kajaani Region (-16.7 %), of which 58,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 78 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 17 percent from last year's December.
54,500 nights (-16.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 6,200 nights (-15.0 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 748,000 registered bed nights (-6.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 36,800 (-51.5 %) for foreigners in Kajaani Region, in total 785,000 (-10.7 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased 15 percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 15 percent compared to earlier year. In Kajaani Region, length of stay in December was on average 3.9 nights and in Finland 2.3 nights (+15.3 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kajaani Region on average 3.9 nights (+5.8 %) and foreigners 14 nights (+19.1 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 28 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.1 percent were domestic, and 0.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kajaani Region on average 3.9 nights (+0.44) and foreigners 14 nights (+10).
