79,100 registered bed nights

In February 2021, 79,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Kajaani Region (-20.0 %), of which 73,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 23 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 62 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 20 percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (620 nights).

69,300 nights (-23.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 9,800 nights (+11.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 122,000 registered bed nights (-20.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,400 (-63.8 %) for foreigners in Kajaani Region, in total 130,000 (-25.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 8.8 percent

Total of 903,000 registered bed nights (-51.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 845,000 nights (-31.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 58,700 nights (-90.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kajaani Region out of total registered bed nights was 8.8 % (+3.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 8.6 % and foreign bed nights 10.5 %.

Length of stay increased 20 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 20 percent compared to earlier year. In Kajaani Region, length of stay in February was on average 4.0 nights and in Finland 2.2 nights (+10.9 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kajaani Region on average 3.8 nights (+16.4 %) and foreigners 9.2 nights (+72.7 %).

19,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 33 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.6 percent were domestic, and 3.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kajaani Region on average 3.8 nights (+0.51) and foreigners 9.2 nights (+5.4).
