Paid bed nights
Registered bed nights increased 28 percent
In March 2021, 92,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Kajaani Region (+27.7 %), of which 88,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 27 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 47 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 28 percent from last year's March.
83,500 nights (+26.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 8,800 nights (+44.4 %) by business visitors.
Between January and March, 211,000 registered bed nights (-5.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 10,800 (-52.7 %) for foreigners in Kajaani Region, in total 222,000 (-10.3 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased six percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. In Kajaani Region, length of stay in March was on average 4.0 nights and in Finland 2.7 nights (+16.1 %).
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kajaani Region on average 3.9 nights (+13.4 %) and foreigners 11 nights (+87.1 %).
22,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 20 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.6 percent were domestic, and 1.4 percent were from foreign countries.
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kajaani Region on average 3.9 nights (+0.15) and foreigners 11 nights (+6.4).
