Registered bed nights increased seven percent

In January 2019, 7,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Kajaani (+6.9 %), of which 6,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 16 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased seven percent from last year's January.

3,000 nights (-20.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,100 nights (+44.2 %) by business visitors.

Total of 1.5 million registered bed nights (+1.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 869,000 nights (+1.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 678,000 nights (+0.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kajaani out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased seven percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Kajaani, length of stay in January was on average 1.5 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+0.4 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kajaani on average 1.5 nights and foreigners 1.9 nights .

4,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased less than one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.0 percent were domestic, and 12.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kajaani on average 1.5 nights (+0.11) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+0.2).
