9,800 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 9,800 bed nights (+37.6 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Kalajoki in February 2020. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 88 % and non-registered 12 %.
Between January and February, the number of paid bed nights was 15,000 (+37.7 %). Share of registered was 86 % and non-registered 14 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
Paid bed nights
Registered bed nights increased 30 percent
In February 2020, 8,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Kalajoki (+29.6 %), of which 7,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 860 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 21 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 310 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 30 percent from last year's February.
5,500 nights (+15.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,000 nights (+65.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 11,500 registered bed nights (+20.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,300 (+169.6 %) for foreigners in Kalajoki, in total 12,900 (+28.0 %) registered nights.

Length of stay increased four percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. In Kalajoki, length of stay in February was on average 2.0 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+2.0 %).
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalajoki on average 1.8 nights (-3.0 %) and foreigners 7.9 nights (+92.9 %).
4,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 25 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.5 percent were domestic, and 2.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalajoki on average 1.8 nights (-0.05) and foreigners 7.9 nights (+4.6).

Total accommodation sales in February were 370,000 euro (+122,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 8.7 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 337,000 euro (+99,700) and non-registered sales 32,200 euro (+22,700).
Total January-February sales were 550,000 euro and they increased 174,000 euro from the previous year.
