Total of 10,100 bed nights (-27.7 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Kalajoki in April 2023. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 83 % and non-registered 17 %.
Between January and April, the number of paid bed nights was 37,500 (-7.2 %). Share of registered was 85 % and non-registered 15 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
8,300 registered bed nights
In April 2023, 8,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Kalajoki (-34.2 %), of which 7,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 750 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 35 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 29 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 34 percent from last year's April.
4,900 nights (-29.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,400 nights (-39.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and April, 28,600 registered bed nights (-14.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,400 (+23.3 %) for foreigners in Kalajoki, in total 32,000 (-11.2 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 24 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.8 percent were domestic, and 3.2 percent were from foreign countries.
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalajoki on average 2.8 nights (-0.5) and foreigners 8.3 nights (+2.1).

Total accommodation sales in April were 508,000 euro (-18,700). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 12.1 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 447,000 euro (-39,700) and non-registered sales 61,700 euro (+21,000).
Total January-April sales were 1.8 million euro and they increased 349,000 euro from the previous year.
