1,400 registered bed nights

In April 2021, 1,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Kalix (-24.8 %), of which 1,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 53 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 26 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 23 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 25 percent from last year's April.

410 rooms (+439.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 480 rooms (+2.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 3,900 registered bed nights (-46.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 114 (-90.6 %) for foreigners in Kalix, in total 4,000 (-52.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.1 percent

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (+90.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kalix out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

460 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 22 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.6 percent were domestic, and 2.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalix on average 2.9 nights (-0.12) and foreigners 4.8 nights (+0.52).
