In September 2019, 3,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Kalix (-25.4 %), of which 2,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 490 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 28 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased nine percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 25 percent from last year's September.
430 rooms (+34.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,200 rooms (+52.2 %) by business visitors.
Between January and September, 38,900 registered bed nights (-16.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 21,900 (-18.2 %) for foreigners in Kalix, in total 60,800 (-17.0 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 92 percent compared to earlier year. In Kalix, length of stay in September was on average 9.0 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-1.3 %).
During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalix on average 14 nights (+11.6 %) and foreigners 3.2 nights (+1.4 %).
