Kalmar County: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased two percent
In October 2019, 88,800 bed nights were recorded in Kalmar County (+1.8 %), of which 75,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 13,800 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased one percent and foreign bed nights increased seven percent. In total, bed nights increased two percent from last year's October.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (4,100 nights).
Between January and October, 2.3 million bed nights (+1.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 534,000 (+9.0 %) for foreigners in Kalmar County, in total 2.9 million (+2.6 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels, campsites, and commercially arranged rentals in private cottages and apartments. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.
