Kalmar County: Tourism in a nutshell

Registered bed nights increased 10 percent
In May 2022, 224,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Kalmar County (+10.3 %), of which 202,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 21,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased five percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 124 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 10 percent from last year's May.
35,400 rooms were booked by leisure visitors and 29,700 rooms by business visitors.
Between January and May, 403,000 registered bed nights (+12.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 41,500 (+34.6 %) for foreigners in Kalmar County, in total 445,000 (+14.1 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Of all registered arrivals, 90.9 percent were domestic, and 9.1 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalmar County on average 2.1 nights and foreigners 2.3 nights.
