Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 14 percent

In February 2019, 47,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Kalmar County (+13.8 %), of which 42,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 15 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased three percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 14 percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (990 nights).

9,900 rooms (+35.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 17,600 rooms (+15.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 79,200 registered bed nights (+8.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,600 (-5.4 %) for foreigners in Kalmar County, in total 86,800 (+7.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.1 percent

Total of 4.3 million registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.3 million nights (+3.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 954,000 nights (+0.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kalmar County out of total registered bed nights was 1.1 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay increased three percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. In Kalmar County, length of stay in February was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (-1.2 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalmar County on average 2.1 nights (+7.5 %) and foreigners 3.1 nights (-20.1 %).

22,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 11 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.8 percent were domestic, and 6.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalmar County on average 2.1 nights (+0.09) and foreigners 3.1 nights (-0.66).
