34,600 registered bed nights

In April 2020, 34,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Kalmar County (-56.2 %), of which 32,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 54 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 78 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 56 percent from last year's April.

6,900 rooms (-59.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 9,300 rooms (-57.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 154,000 registered bed nights (-23.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 18,000 (-14.7 %) for foreigners in Kalmar County, in total 171,000 (-22.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.3 million registered bed nights (-70.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-65.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 114,000 nights (-88.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kalmar County out of total registered bed nights was 2.7 % (+0.9 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.9 % and foreign bed nights 1.6 %.

Length of stay increased 29 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 29 percent compared to earlier year. In Kalmar County, length of stay in April was on average 2.5 nights and in Sweden 2.5 nights (+16.7 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalmar County on average 2.4 nights (+5.4 %) and foreigners 4.7 nights (+52.7 %).

13,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 66 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.1 percent were domestic, and 2.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalmar County on average 2.4 nights (+0.57) and foreigners 4.7 nights (+1.7).
