Registered bed nights increased nine percent

In September 2021, 30,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Kalmar (+9.4 %), of which 26,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased three percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 77 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased nine percent from last year's September.

10,300 rooms (+29.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 7,100 rooms (-14.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 325,000 registered bed nights (+21.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 40,000 (+133.3 %) for foreigners in Kalmar, in total 365,000 (+28.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.8 percent

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+24.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 723,000 nights (+65.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kalmar out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

18,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 11 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.6 percent were domestic, and 12.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalmar on average 1.7 nights (-0.04) and foreigners 1.8 nights (+0.05).
