28,200 registered bed nights

In September 2020, 28,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Kalmar (-8.8 %), of which 25,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased four percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 43 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased nine percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (750 nights).

7,900 rooms (-8.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,400 rooms (-21.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 267,000 registered bed nights (-8.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 17,200 (-70.6 %) for foreigners in Kalmar, in total 284,000 (-19.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.9 percent

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-19.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 441,000 nights (-61.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kalmar out of total registered bed nights was 0.9 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.0 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

16,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 12 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.0 percent were domestic, and 8.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalmar on average 1.7 nights (+0.09) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-0.31).
