Registered bed nights increased three percent

In September 2019, 30,900 bed nights were recorded in Kalmar (+3.0 %), of which 26,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,000 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased two percent and foreign bed nights increased six percent. In total, bed nights increased three percent from last year's September.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (970 nights).

8,700 rooms (+7.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 10,600 rooms (-1.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 293,000 bed nights (+5.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 58,400 (+8.6 %) for foreigners in Kalmar, in total 351,000 (+5.5 %) nights.

Market share 0.7 percent

Total of 4.5 million bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+3.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (-1.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kalmar out of total bed nights was 0.7 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

18,700 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 11 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 89.5 percent were domestic, and 10.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalmar on average 1.6 nights (-0.18) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+0.28).

Registered January-September sales were 186.3 million SEK and they increased 22.3 million euro from the previous year.
