Registered bed nights increased 134 percent
In April 2021, 19,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Kalmar (+134.4 %), of which 17,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 117 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 480 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 134 percent from last year's April.
4,500 rooms (+113.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 6,000 rooms (+97.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and April, 48,500 registered bed nights (-4.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 11,100 (+191.8 %) for foreigners in Kalmar, in total 59,600 (+9.3 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels, campsites, and commercially arranged rentals in private cottages and apartments. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 136 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.2 percent were domestic, and 7.8 percent were from foreign countries.
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalmar on average 1.9 nights (-0.09) and foreigners 3.0 nights (+0.78).
