Registered bed nights increased one percent
In December 2019, 17,000 bed nights were recorded in Kalmar (+1.0 %), of which 16,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,000 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased less than one percent and foreign bed nights increased 12 percent. In total, bed nights increased one percent from last year's December.
5,400 rooms (+8.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,800 rooms (-3.8 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 355,000 bed nights (+4.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 63,400 (+8.1 %) for foreigners in Kalmar, in total 418,000 (+5.0 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels, campsites, and commercially arranged rentals in private cottages and apartments. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased less than one percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 94.8 percent were domestic, and 5.2 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalmar on average 1.6 nights (0.0) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+0.25).
