Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased four percent

In February 2023, 16,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Kalmar (+4.5 %), of which 15,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased nine percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 35 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased four percent from last year's February.

4,200 rooms (-3.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 7,400 rooms (+31.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 28,500 registered bed nights (+12.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,100 (-25.5 %) for foreigners in Kalmar, in total 30,700 (+8.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.5 percent

Total of 3.5 million registered bed nights (+20.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.8 million nights (+17.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 756,000 nights (+32.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kalmar out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay was 1.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Kalmar, length of stay in February was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-5.0 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalmar on average 1.6 nights (-3.4 %) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-22.6 %).

10,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 15 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.3 percent were domestic, and 6.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalmar on average 1.6 nights (-0.12) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-0.53).
