13,400 registered bed nights

In March 2020, 13,400 bed nights were recorded in Kalmar (-38.2 %), of which 12,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 940 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 39 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 27 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 38 percent from last year's March.

3,800 rooms (-36.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 6,100 rooms (-35.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 42,700 bed nights (-17.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,400 (+0.7 %) for foreigners in Kalmar, in total 46,100 (-16.3 %) nights.

Total of 2.8 million bed nights (-37.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.4 million nights (-33.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 405,000 nights (-54.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kalmar out of total bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

8,000 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 43 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 93.4 percent were domestic, and 6.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalmar on average 1.7 nights (+0.14) and foreigners 1.8 nights (+0.04).
