Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 15 percent

In January 2022, 12,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Kalmar (+14.8 %), of which 11,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 42 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 61 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 15 percent from last year's January.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (300 nights).

3,400 rooms (+40.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 4,000 rooms (-9.3 %) by business visitors.

Total of 2.3 million registered bed nights (+4.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.9 million nights (-4.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 399,000 nights (+105.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kalmar out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay was 1.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 30 percent compared to earlier year. In Kalmar, length of stay in January was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-36.1 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalmar on average 1.7 nights and foreigners 2.1 nights .

6,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 63 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.5 percent were domestic, and 7.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalmar on average 1.7 nights (-0.27) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-6.1).
