Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 13 percent

In June 2022, 51,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Kalmar (+12.5 %), of which 43,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 8,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 200 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 13 percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (3,400 nights).

12,300 rooms (+14.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,500 rooms (+71.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 150,000 registered bed nights (+22.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 19,100 (+22.5 %) for foreigners in Kalmar, in total 169,000 (+22.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.8 percent

Total of 6.9 million registered bed nights (+39.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.2 million nights (+17.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+259.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kalmar out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay increased four percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. In Kalmar, length of stay in June was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-13.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalmar on average 1.9 nights (-6.6 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-43.8 %).

26,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 83.6 percent were domestic, and 16.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalmar on average 1.9 nights (+0.09) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+0.1).
