Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 13 percent

In December 2018, 12,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Karlskrona (+13.3 %), of which 10,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 17 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 10 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 13 percent from last year's December.

2,300 rooms (+3.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,700 rooms (+31.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 299,000 registered bed nights (-1.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 68,000 (+11.8 %) for foreigners in Karlskrona, in total 367,000 (+1.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+1.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 787,000 nights (+3.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Karlskrona out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased four percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. In Karlskrona, length of stay in December was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.1 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Karlskrona on average 1.9 nights (-2.7 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+4.2 %).

6,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.0 percent were domestic, and 9.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Karlskrona on average 1.9 nights (+0.11) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.2).
