Registered bed nights increased 13 percent

In August 2019, 72,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Karlskrona (+12.8 %), of which 53,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 19,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 15 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 13 percent from last year's August.

10,600 rooms (+106.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,700 rooms (-2.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 264,000 registered bed nights (+8.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 63,000 (+8.7 %) for foreigners in Karlskrona, in total 327,000 (+8.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.9 million registered bed nights (+3.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.1 million nights (+4.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.8 million nights (+3.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Karlskrona out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

Length of stay increased four percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. In Karlskrona, length of stay in August was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (+0.4 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Karlskrona on average 2.2 nights (+3.4 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+0.9 %).

32,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 75.8 percent were domestic, and 24.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Karlskrona on average 2.2 nights (+0.11) and foreigners 2.4 nights (0.0).
