Registered bed nights increased 112 percent

In April 2021, 24,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Karlstad (+111.7 %), of which 22,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 114 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 89 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 112 percent from last year's April.

4,600 rooms (+178.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 10,000 rooms (+138.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 77,000 registered bed nights (-21.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,100 (-71.8 %) for foreigners in Karlstad, in total 82,100 (-29.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (+90.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Karlstad out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.0 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

11,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 121 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.0 percent were domestic, and 4.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Karlstad on average 2.0 nights (-0.09) and foreigners 3.8 nights (+0.41).
