Registered bed nights increased 18 percent (May)

In May 2021, 30,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Karlstad (+17.7 %), of which 29,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 18 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 20 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 18 percent from last year's May.

3,800 rooms (+64.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,600 rooms (+55.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 106,000 registered bed nights (-13.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,300 (-62.3 %) for foreigners in Karlstad, in total 114,000 (-20.1 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 30 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.2 percent were domestic, and 3.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Karlstad on average 2.1 nights (-0.2) and foreigners 2.9 nights (-0.5).
