Registered bed nights increased 18 percent
In September 2021, 42,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Karlstad (+18.4 %), of which 37,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 19 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 17 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 18 percent from last year's September.
9,300 rooms (+20.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 14,700 rooms (+10.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and September, 346,000 registered bed nights (-3.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 37,800 (+11.5 %) for foreigners in Karlstad, in total 384,000 (-1.7 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels, campsites, and commercially arranged rentals in private cottages and apartments. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 25 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.7 percent were domestic, and 11.3 percent were from foreign countries.
During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Karlstad on average 1.7 nights (-0.05) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-0.43).
