26,200 registered bed nights

In May 2020, 26,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Karlstad (-58.0 %), of which 24,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 44 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 92 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 58 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United Kingdom (430 nights).

2,300 rooms (-80.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,200 rooms (-73.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 123,000 registered bed nights (-30.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 19,400 (-67.7 %) for foreigners in Karlstad, in total 142,000 (-40.2 %) registered nights.

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 104 percent compared to earlier year. In Karlstad, length of stay in May was on average 4.5 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (+30.7 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Karlstad on average 4.4 nights (+9.6 %) and foreigners 5.9 nights (-6.8 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 79 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.1 percent were domestic, and 3.9 percent were from foreign countries.
