39,600 registered bed nights

In June 2021, 39,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Karlstad (-0.4 %), of which 36,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased five percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 125 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased less than one percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (850 nights).

5,300 rooms (+28.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,800 rooms (+27.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 143,000 registered bed nights (-11.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 10,000 (-52.1 %) for foreigners in Karlstad, in total 153,000 (-16.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.9 million registered bed nights (+34.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.5 million nights (+31.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 455,000 nights (+76.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Karlstad out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

Length of stay was 3.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 23 percent compared to earlier year. In Karlstad, length of stay in June was on average 3.1 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-5.5 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Karlstad on average 3.0 nights (+0.7 %) and foreigners 4.8 nights (+96.6 %).

12,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 29 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.7 percent were domestic, and 5.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Karlstad on average 3.0 nights (-1.0) and foreigners 4.8 nights (+0.9).
