Kauhava: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered accommodation. All changes are relative to the same period a year ago.
Registered bed nights increased 71 percent
In May 2022, 7,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Kauhava (+71.4 %), of which 7,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 63 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 72 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 15 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 71 percent from last year's May.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (29 nights).
5,200 nights (+35.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,900 nights (+505.6 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 28,000 registered bed nights (+50.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 430 (+179.2 %) for foreigners in Kauhava, in total 28,400 (+51.5 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

3,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 69 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.4 percent were domestic, and 0.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kauhava on average 2.0 nights (+0.04) and foreigners 3.0 nights (-2.0).

Registered January-May sales were 966,000 euro and they increased 345,000 euro from the previous year.
