Kauhava: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased six percent
In January 2019, 5,100 bed nights were recorded in Kauhava (+5.8 %), of which 4,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 410 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased one percent and foreign bed nights increased 280 percent. In total, bed nights increased six percent from last year's January.
4,600 nights (+7.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 470 nights (-6.4 %) by business visitors.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Total of 1.5 million bed nights (+1.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 869,000 nights (+1.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 675,000 nights (+0.6 %) by foreigners.
The market share of Kauhava out of total bed nights was 0.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.
2,300 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 93.5 percent were domestic, and 6.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kauhava on average 2.2 nights (+0.2) and foreigners 2.8 nights (+1.7).
