Kauhava: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased one percent
In March 2019, 8,800 bed nights were recorded in Kauhava (+1.0 %), of which 8,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 116 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased one percent and foreign bed nights increased 36 percent. In total, bed nights increased one percent from last year's March.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Italy (61 nights).
8,100 nights (-1.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 690 nights (+54.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and March, 21,100 bed nights (+0.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 640 (+61.2 %) for foreigners in Kauhava, in total 21,800 (+1.9 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

3,800 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 99.2 percent were domestic, and 0.8 percent were from foreign countries.
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kauhava on average 2.3 nights (-0.2) and foreigners 4.0 nights (+1.8).

Total accommodation sales in March were 294,000 euro (+23,900). The share of Airbnb and HomeAway was 0.8 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 291,000 euro (+21,500) and Airbnb and HomeAway sales 2,400 euro (+2,400).
Total January-March sales were 722,000 euro and they increased 29,600 euro from the previous year.
