Kaustinen Region: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered accommodation. All changes are relative to the same period a year ago.
1,100 registered bed nights
In May 2022, 1,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Kaustinen Region (-5.2 %), of which 1,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 39 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased one percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 66 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased five percent from last year's May.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (19 nights).
660 nights (-14.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 460 nights (+12.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 3,600 registered bed nights (+5.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 280 (+57.5 %) for foreigners in Kaustinen Region, in total 3,900 (+7.8 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 14 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.8 percent were domestic, and 4.2 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kaustinen Region on average 2.1 nights (-0.24) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-5.5).
