Paid bed nights
Registered bed nights increased 20 percent
In December 2018, 1,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Kaustinen Region (+19.5 %), of which 1,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 154 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 15 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 60 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 20 percent from last year's December.
730 nights (-7.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 480 nights (+115.0 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 24,700 registered bed nights (-8.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,200 (-34.2 %) for foreigners in Kaustinen Region, in total 25,900 (-10.4 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased 20 percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 20 percent compared to earlier year. In Kaustinen Region, length of stay in December was on average 2.7 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+1.4 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kaustinen Region on average 2.5 nights (+3.2 %) and foreigners 5.3 nights (-23.8 %).
440 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased less than one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.5 percent were domestic, and 6.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kaustinen Region on average 2.5 nights (+0.39) and foreigners 5.3 nights (+0.51).
