In December 2018, 6,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Kehys-Kainuu Region (-17.9 %), of which 4,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 27 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 18 percent from last year's December.
6,600 nights (-16.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 260 nights (-36.3 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 101,000 registered bed nights (-14.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 30,100 (-3.3 %) for foreigners in Kehys-Kainuu Region, in total 132,000 (-12.3 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay was 2.7 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 15 percent compared to earlier year. In Kehys-Kainuu Region, length of stay in December was on average 2.7 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+1.4 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kehys-Kainuu Region on average 3.0 nights (-12.9 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-9.2 %).
2,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 58.4 percent were domestic, and 41.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kehys-Kainuu Region on average 3.0 nights (+0.3) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-2.0).
