Registered bed nights increased four percent
In July 2021, 24,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Kehys-Kainuu Region (+3.6 %), of which 23,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 790 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased five percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 24 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased four percent from last year's July.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (430 nights).
22,900 nights (-0.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,800 nights (+125.4 %) by business visitors.
Between January and July, 56,800 registered bed nights (+39.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 990 (-85.1 %) for foreigners in Kehys-Kainuu Region, in total 57,700 (+22.2 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.4 percent were domestic, and 2.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kehys-Kainuu Region on average 2.0 nights (+0.23) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-1.3).
