Registered bed nights increased 1,800 percent

In April 2021, 3,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Kemi (+1,827.7 %), of which 3,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 280 nights by foreigners.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Netherlands (92 nights).

900 nights (+1,380.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,800 nights (+2,037.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 12,200 registered bed nights (-3.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,100 (-92.1 %) for foreigners in Kemi, in total 13,200 (-49.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 780,000 registered bed nights (+310.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 727,000 nights (+319.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 53,100 nights (+216.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kemi out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (+0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 1,500 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.9 percent were domestic, and 3.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kemi on average 1.9 nights (+0.26) and foreigners 4.9 nights.
