Registered bed nights increased 26 percent

In November 2019, 6,100 bed nights were recorded in Kemi (+26.2 %), of which 4,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,300 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 18 percent and foreign bed nights increased 69 percent. In total, bed nights increased 26 percent from last year's November.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from China (300 nights).

2,100 nights (+73.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,000 nights (+10.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 60,900 bed nights (+21.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 29,800 (+4.1 %) for foreigners in Kemi, in total 90,600 (+15.2 %) nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 1.6 million bed nights (+5.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (+5.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 457,000 nights (+4.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kemi out of total bed nights was 0.4 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

4,100 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 42 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 81.6 percent were domestic, and 18.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kemi on average 1.4 nights (-0.25) and foreigners 1.8 nights (+0.11).

2,700 air travelers

The airport received a total of 2,700 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased eight percent.

Of local passengers, 0.0 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 100.0 %.

In addition, there were 2,500 passengers departing the airport (-17.0 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 5,200 (-12.8 %).
