2,300 registered bed nights

In December 2020, 2,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Kemi (-80.1 %), of which 2,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 124 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 53 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 98 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 80 percent from last year's December.

1,000 nights (-86.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,300 nights (-69.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 42,600 registered bed nights (-35.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 18,600 (-49.4 %) for foreigners in Kemi, in total 61,200 (-40.2 %) registered nights.

The market share of Kemi out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased 19 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 19 percent compared to earlier year. In Kemi, length of stay in December was on average 1.6 nights and in Finland 2.3 nights (+15.3 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kemi on average 1.6 nights (+6.9 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (+17.5 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 83 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.1 percent were domestic, and 4.9 percent were from foreign countries.
