Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 75 percent

In June 2022, 8,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Kemi (+75.3 %), of which 6,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 56 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 310 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 75 percent from last year's June.

2,400 nights (+22.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,700 nights (+114.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 31,400 registered bed nights (+67.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,700 (+404.3 %) for foreigners in Kemi, in total 40,100 (+95.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.2 million registered bed nights (+26.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.8 million nights (+9.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 390,000 nights (+387.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kemi out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay increased 22 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 22 percent compared to earlier year. In Kemi, length of stay in June was on average 2.1 nights and in Finland 1.8 nights (-0.9 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kemi on average 2.1 nights (+0.3 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-48.8 %).

3,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 44 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 81.7 percent were domestic, and 18.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kemi on average 2.1 nights (+0.43) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.85).
