Registered bed nights increased four percent (December 2019)
In December 2019, 93,500 bed nights were recorded in Kittilä (+4.4 %), of which 27,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 66,100 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 36 percent and foreign bed nights decreased five percent. In total, bed nights increased four percent from last year's December.
69,300 nights (+2.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 24,200 nights (+10.0 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 271,000 bed nights (+1.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 258,000 (-3.2 %) for foreigners in Kittilä, in total 530,000 (-0.8 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Total of 1.8 million bed nights (+0.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 986,000 nights (+2.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 787,000 nights (-0.4 %) by foreigners.
The market share of Kittilä out of total bed nights was 5.3 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.8 % and foreign bed nights 8.4 %.
25,700 tourists arrived to accommodation (December 2019)
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 27.7 percent were domestic, and 72.3 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kittilä on average 3.8 nights (+0.44) and foreigners 3.6 nights (-0.05).
183 international congress guests in 2019
The number of international congress quests increased 260 percent from the previous year.
There was a total of 2.0 congresses organized (+1.0) in 2019.
27,300 air travelers
The airport received a total of 27,300 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased two percent.
Of local passengers, 49.8 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 50.2 %.
In addition, there were 31,700 passengers departing the airport (+0.2 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 59,000.

Accommodation sales 5.5 million euro (December 2019)
Total accommodation sales in December were 5.5 million euro (+1.1 million). The share of Airbnb was 11.1 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 5.0 million euro (+844,000) and Airbnb sales 550,000 euro (+234,000).
Total January-December sales were 31.2 million euro and they increased 3.7 million euro from the previous year.
