Registered bed nights increased 310 percent (May)

In May 2021, 5,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Kittilä (+314.4 %), of which 5,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 99 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 380 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 49 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 310 percent from last year's May.

3,500 nights (+282.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,600 nights (+407.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 132,000 registered bed nights (+65.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,400 (-97.4 %) for foreigners in Kittilä, in total 136,000 (-35.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 850,000 registered bed nights (+183.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 779,000 nights (+177.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 71,600 nights (+266.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kittilä out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

1,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (May)

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 280 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.7 percent were domestic, and 1.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kittilä on average 3.0 nights (+0.61) and foreigners 4.7 nights (-9.3).

Of local passengers, 0.0 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 100.0 %.
