Kokkola Region: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased one percent
In January 2020, 6,300 bed nights were recorded in Kokkola Region (+1.5 %), of which 5,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 830 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased one percent and foreign bed nights increased 20 percent. In total, bed nights increased one percent from last year's January.
2,300 nights (+0.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,000 nights (+1.9 %) by business visitors.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased less than one percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 93.4 percent were domestic, and 6.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kokkola Region on average 1.5 nights (-0.02) and foreigners 3.2 nights (+0.58).
