8,300 registered bed nights

In November 2019, 8,300 bed nights were recorded in Kokkola Region (-1.3 %), of which 6,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,400 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased three percent and foreign bed nights increased seven percent. In total, bed nights decreased one percent from last year's November.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Austria (300 nights).

3,600 nights (+11.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,700 nights (-9.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 94,500 bed nights (-6.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 14,600 (+10.5 %) for foreigners in Kokkola Region, in total 109,000 (-4.5 %) nights.

Market share 0.5 percent

Total of 1.6 million bed nights (+5.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (+5.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 457,000 nights (+4.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kokkola Region out of total bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

5,100 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 93.8 percent were domestic, and 6.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kokkola Region on average 1.5 nights (+0.07) and foreigners 4.3 nights (+0.46).

Registered accommodation sales in November were 618,000 euro (-15,300).

Registered January-November sales were 6.9 million euro and they decreased 81,700 euro from the previous year.
