Total of 17,000 bed nights (-0.2 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Kokkola in August 2022. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 78 % and non-registered 22 %.
Between January and August, the number of paid bed nights was 104,000 (+21.1 %). Share of registered was 80 % and non-registered 20 %.

13,200 registered bed nights (August)
In August 2022, 13,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Kokkola (-8.5 %), of which 11,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 15 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 132 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased eight percent from last year's August.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (280 nights).
8,200 nights (-23.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,100 nights (+33.8 %) by business visitors.
Between January and August, 77,200 registered bed nights (+7.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,100 (+224.1 %) for foreigners in Kokkola, in total 83,300 (+12.7 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 12 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.8 percent were domestic, and 7.2 percent were from foreign countries.

Total accommodation sales in August were 897,000 euro (+131,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 9.0 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 817,000 euro (+99,000) and non-registered sales 80,700 euro (+31,700).
Total January-August sales were 5.7 million euro and they increased 1.8 million euro from the previous year.
