Registered bed nights increased 43 percent (March)

In March 2022, 7,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Kokkola (+43.1 %), of which 7,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 680 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 33 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 520 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 43 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (91 nights).

3,600 nights (+37.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,100 nights (+48.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 16,700 registered bed nights (+24.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,300 (+221.3 %) for foreigners in Kokkola, in total 18,000 (+30.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+105.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.4 million nights (+70.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 377,000 nights (+699.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kokkola out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

4,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (March)

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 41 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.1 percent were domestic, and 4.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kokkola on average 1.6 nights (-0.03) and foreigners 2.9 nights (-0.2).
